This is an annual spring production that showcases all African culture through different realms. This year, they are focusing on engaging with contemporary issues through spoken word, art, fashion, dance, and a produced documentary. Ticket proceeds will go towards help OAS to award scholarships at the end of the semester to its members.
Restoration Ball is an annual 800-person event held in the UVA Amphitheater. The black-tie dance features live music, heavy hors d’oeuvres catering by the Virginia Catering Company, and an opportunity for the University Community to come together. All proceeds from the event go towards the Jeffersonian Grounds Initiative for the continued restoration of the Rotunda and Academical Village.
The annual Community Cookout is one of the ways that SHHO fosters community interaction among groups that may not normally cross paths. The event is also being cosponsored by the Black Student Alliance, the Latino Student Alliance, the Organization for Young Filipino Americans, the Indian Student Association, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
The University Board of Elections will host the 2017 student elections from Tuesday, February 2, at 10 a.m., through Thursday, February 23, at 4 p.m., on the UBE website, http://www.uvavote.com. During the 2017 election season, all University of Virginia students will have the opportunity to vote for Honor Committee Representatives in their school of enrollment.
