Honorable Mention

Congratulations to Kat Young for this week's Honorable Mention! She's a third year on the UVa Volleyball team, nominated by a fellow teammate:

"Kat upholds honor on the UVA Women's Volleyball team through establishing trust with her teammates. This trust is a form of Honor that makes her teammates appreciate feel her presence and hard work both on and off the court. She constantly upholds the simple rules on the volleyball court from being on time to doing our lifting repetitions right. Kat exemplifies Honor to me because I trust she is taking actions to put herself in the best place to be the best teammate she can be at all times, to represent UVA to her highest capability. I feel comfort in know that she gets the job done without needing to be asked. Kat is Honorable, trustworthy, and a quality teammate."

The Honorable Mention is an initiative with the explicit purpose of expanding the meaning of honor at the University of Virginia. We believe that honor has a larger narrative than the expressed tenets to not lie, cheat, or steal, and we want to place the power in the hands of the students to define it. Nominate someone here:
