Honor Week Run with Jim

Honor Run with Jim
7:30-8:30 am | Outside Madison Hall

With the UVA Club of Charlottesville, join this specialty run with President Ryan, with free RWJ t-shirts and Bodo's Bagels, while supplies last! This event is rain or shine. 

At 8:30 am, Laura Howard, Chair of the Honor Committee, will briefly share information about the upcoming Honor Week and answer questions regarding recent Honor referendums with interested alumni. 

Students, please bring your student IDs to check in. We will also host a competition between UVA club sports team, where the team with the most members in attendance will win a pizza party and Insomnia Cookies.

Information Ethics & Citations

With the UVA Library, join us for an engaging discussion about the significance of information ethics in academic and professional settings, with free Krispy Kreme donuts! Be a part of this informative session where we explore the ethical dimensions of information usage and challenges you may face as a student scholar.

Mock Honor Hearing

A staple annual event, immerse yourself in a hands-on experience and take on the role of an Honor hearing panelists. Gain a deeper understanding of the Honor case and decision-making process, and gain practical insights into the Honor system. Snacks provided!

Drop-In Honor System Walkthrough
12:00-2:00 pm | Newcomb South Meeting Room

Join Honor Support Officers for ~5 minutes to learn about how Honor's case process works, from reports to sanctions. Take part in meaningful conversations, ask questions, and share your feedback.

Jefferson Society and Washington Society Debate
5:00-6:00 pm | Jefferson Hall (Hotel C West Range)

This debate promises to be a timely exploration of the implications of the restorative nature of our new multi-sanction system, with free Mellow Mushroom pizza!

Resolution: "Repeat Honor Offenders should be permanently removed from the University."

The views expressed in this debate are not those of the Honor Committee, and the results of the debate do not indicate whether or not an act is an Honor Offense. If you have questions about what constitutes an Honor Offense, please don’t hesitate to contact your Honor Committee representative, contact Honor via the Contact Honor web form, or consult your course instructor.

Translating Your Strengths into Job and Internship Search Success

Honor Week Fireside Chat

Hosted in partnership with the UVA Alumni Association, Thomas Hall (Col ’02, Law ’08) and Mike Lenox (SEAS ’93, SEAS ’94) will discuss their experiences as Chairs of the Honor Committee, the role of integrity in their careers, and contemporary challenges to our Community of Trust. Their candid “fireside chat” will span a variety of topics that resonate with students, friends, and alumni of the University. The event will serve as the “keynote” of Honor Week 2025 and will include a catered dinner.

Friday, February 14th

Batten/McIntire Case Competition
1:00-2:30 pm | Batten Great Hall

Participate in our Honor-related case competition, or observe the ingenuity and creativity of Batten and McIntire students! Members of the faculty and UVA administration will judge this competition, and the winner will receive a gift card. All participants and observers will be provided lunch.

Honor Week Recap & Dinner

Join an Honor Committee meeting that recaps the second annual Honor Week! Like all Committee meetings, we encourage your active participation through Public Comment, providing a platform for questions and direct feedback to representatives, with free Roots!

For every event you attend, submit an entry into the Honor Week Raffle:

Win 2 Box Tickets to a UVA Men's Basketball game or one year of free Take It Away!

Terms and conditions: For your single raffle entry per event, you must attend and participate in the event in a substantive way. Entries must be submitted via the provided raffle ticket in the designated raffle ticket collection box. The raffle prizes include 2 Box Tickets to a UVA Men's Basketball game on March 4th, 2024 (Florida State) or one year of free Take It Away ($15 x 50 weeks = $750 Take It Away gift card). One winner will be selected randomly from eligible entries for each prize. The drawing will take place after the conclusion of Honor Week, and the winners will be notified via the computing ID provided on their raffle ticket. If a winner cannot be reached within 7 days time, an alternate winner will be selected. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. The Honor Committee reserves the right to modify or cancel events and prizes, if necessary.
