Honor Week Kickoff & Dinner

Information Ethics & Citations

Drop-In Honor System Walkthrough

AI Exchange

Hosted with the Karsh Institute of Democracy, join us for a discussion with a knowledgeable faculty panel, where we delve into the various uses of AI. Gain insights and share your thoughts on the impact of AI on education, research, and daily experiences, and explore the ethical considerations associated with its widespread use.

Jefferson Society and Washington Society Debate
6:00-7:00 pm | Newcomb Theatre

This debate promises to be a timely exploration of the ethical implications surrounding the use of generative AI in academic settings, with free Mellow Mushroom pizza!

Resolution: "Should the use of generative AI on writing assignments be considered cheating?"

The views expressed in this debate are not those of the Honor Committee, and the results of the debate do not indicate whether or not an act is an Honor Offense. Thursday, February 8th

Honor Run with Jim
7:30-8:30 am | Outside Madison Hall

With the UVA Club of Charlottesville, join this specialty run with President Ryan, with free RWJ t-shirts and Bodo's Bagels, while supplies last! 

At 8:30 am, Hamza Aziz, Chair of the Honor Committee, will briefly share information and answer questions regarding recent Honor referendums with interested alumni.

Student Elections Snack & Share

In partnership with the University Board of Elections, join us for an enriching event where current student leaders from Honor, UJC, StudCo, and more come together to delve into the intricacies of student self-governance and elections, snacks provided. Get your questions answered as you prepare to campaign and run for an organization in this Spring's student election cycle!

HonorFest with UPC
11:00-2:00 pm | South Lawn

In parternship with the University Programs Council, we will conclude the week-long initiative on a lively and positive note. This fest aims to bring students together for an engaging experience centered around the principles of honor, integrity, and trust! Featuring various Honor-related tables, we hope to foster a collective but casual reflection on the importance of these values.

Mock Honor Hearing
2:30-4:00 pm | Newcomb Hall 480 (Trial Room)

A staple bi-annual event, immerse yourself in a hands-on experience and take on the role of an Honor hearing panelists. Gain a deeper understanding of the Honor case and decision-making process, and gain practical insights into the Honor system. Snacks provided!

For every event you attend, submit an entry into the Honor Week Raffle:

Win 2 Box Tickets to a UVA Men's Basketball game or one year of free Bodo's Bagels!

Terms and conditions: For your single raffle entry per event, you must attend and participate in the event in a substantive way. Entries must be submitted via the provided raffle ticket in the designated raffle ticket collection box. The raffle prizes include 2 Box Tickets to a UVA Men's Basketball game on March 9th, 2024 (Georgia Tech) or one year of free Bodos Bagels ($6 x 52 weeks = $312 Bodos Bagel gift card). One winner will be selected randomly from eligible entries for each prize. The drawing will take place after the conclusion of Honor Week, and the winners will be notified via the computing ID provided on their raffle ticket. If a winner cannot be reached within 7 days time, an alternate winner will be selected. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. The Honor Committee reserves the right to modify or cancel events and prizes, if necessary.
